A Great Day for Embark-en
Recently, Embark-en had the opportunity to hold our FIRST exhibitor stall at the Bimer Bonsai Club Market Day 2026, and what a day it turned out to be.
Being our first time exhibiting, we weren't really sure what to expect. The crowd that came through on the day was something we definitely weren't prepared for — in the best possible way.
It was a real pleasure to meet so many club members for the first time, as well as plenty of other bonsai enthusiasts who came along for the day.
Putting Faces to Names
One of the best parts of the day wasn't actually selling products — it was simply getting the chance to meet and talk with people.
We had a blast chatting with everyone who stopped by our table to say hello, ask about our products, talk bonsai or just have a look at what we've been working on.
Running an online store means a lot of our interaction with customers happens through a screen, so being able to put some faces to names and have those conversations in person was something we really enjoyed.
The Feedback Meant a Lot
Probably the biggest thing we took away from the day was the feedback.
We received nothing but great comments about Embark-en, our products and what we're trying to build.
It was genuinely humbling to hear.
As a relatively new business, you spend a lot of time wondering whether you're heading in the right direction, so hearing people speak so positively about what we're doing gave us a huge amount of encouragement.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to have a chat and share their thoughts with us.
A Few Sell-Outs Along the Way
We certainly weren't expecting to sell out of products on our first market day, but that's exactly what happened.
A few products disappeared from the table completely, while some of our standout sellers for the day were our Wazakura bonsai tools, pre-screened substrates and annealed copper bonsai wire.
Seeing customers pick up these products and hearing their thoughts about them was particularly rewarding, as they're products we've put a lot of thought into bringing to the Embark-en range.
It was also a good lesson for us...
Bring more stock next time!
More Than Just a Market Stall
The day also wouldn't have happened without the support and love from my family.
There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes before you turn up and put a table together, and having family there to help, support Embark-en and be part of our first market day made the experience even better.
It's something I'm incredibly grateful for.

For our first exhibitor stall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
We learnt plenty, met some great people, sold a few things along the way and most importantly had a really enjoyable day surrounded by people who share the same interest in bonsai.
Hopefully, it's the first of many.
