Unlike broader multi-prong root rakes designed to move quickly through loose root systems, the single hook is particularly useful when greater precision is required. Embark-en recommends one- or two-prong root hooks for carefully untangling roots or working with roots that have become firmly compacted and hardened, while three-prong designs are better suited to faster work through less-dense root systems.

Care Instructions

After each use, remove all soil and organic material from the hook and wipe it clean. Dry the steel thoroughly before storage to help prevent corrosion. Periodically apply a light coat of Camellia (Tsubaki) Oil to the steel hook for additional protection. Avoid leaving the tool wet or embedded in damp substrate, and store it in a clean, dry location with your other bonsai tools.
