Dr Greenthumbs Root Roids Granular is a 100% organic mycorrhizal inoculant designed to establish beneficial fungi within the root zone, supporting stronger root development, improved nutrient and water uptake, and overall plant vigour.
Unlike powdered or liquid inoculants, Root Roids Granular uses a dust-free granular formulation that can be applied directly around the roots during repotting, mixed through new growing media, or scratched into the surface of established containers.
The beneficial mycorrhizal fungi form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots, effectively extending the plant's ability to access available water and nutrients. The specialised natural carrier also provides a long-term environment for beneficial microorganisms within the root zone.

Rhizophagus irregularis – 260 propagules per gram
Combined with a natural granular carrier designed for direct application within the root zone.
Dosage Recommendations
- Repotting / Transplanting: Apply 1–2 scoops evenly underneath and around the root ball
- Larger Transplants: 3–4 scoops may be used
- Established Plants: Apply 1–2 scoops per plant and lightly scratch into the surface
- New Soil & Potting Media: Mix 50g per 50L of growing media
- General Broadcast Application: Apply at approximately 50g per m²
- For maximum results, reapply monthly during active growth and approximately every two months during periods of inactive growth
- Do not leave the granules exposed to direct sunlight; incorporate them into the growing medium or root zone.
Recommended Use
For bonsai, Root Roids Granular is particularly useful during repotting, where the granules can be placed directly around the root system before fresh substrate is worked into the pot.
It can also be used with GreenSpace Slow Release Fertiliser, allowing the mycorrhizal fungi to support the plant's ability to access nutrients already available within the growing medium. Root Roids does not replace regular fertilisation and is designed to complement an existing feeding program.
Important Note
Root Roids Granular is a living biological inoculant, not an NPK fertiliser. For best results, ensure the granules make contact with the root zone, cover them after application and water in.
Store sealed, cool and dry, away from heat and direct sunlight. The manufacturer recommends using within 12 months for best potency.
